Eco-friendly cycling

Last time we talked about some safety rules of riding a bike. Today let’s talk about how bikes are good for the environment and the effect cycling eco-friendliness has on our towns and cities.
Obviously riding a bike is environmentally friendly especially if you compare it to driving a car. That is why a lot of governments today are stimulating and encouraging people to get on their bikes to go to work, the shops and even the theatre. In Ireland the government is promising monetary prizes and personalized eco friendly gifts to those who prove they’d cycled to work for the past year. Cycling makes the air in the cities fresher, reduces health risks for cyclists and lessens a carbon footprint of a given country. But as the cities’ administration are friendly to bikes they are harsher on cars especially those that are big pollutants. These cars are heavily taxed and owners get rid of them, but they don’t disappear into space. They end up in poorer countries for less money and become very popular there. So the overall situation doesn’t change since these vehicles continue to pollute the planet. This is an issue to be looked into by governments.
If you want to be super eco-friendly don’t just start cycling everywhere but buy eco-friendly gadgets for your bikes. Good luck!
